Affordable Homes Project in Herefordshire Resumed for Local Community

Edenstone Homes and Stonewater have entered into contract to complete construction of 90 affordable homes in Herefordshire.

The Madley Road site, in Clehonger, is the second development in the area that the organisations are partnering on. Edenstone are currently building 120 affordable homes at the nearby College Road site in Hereford.

With over 20 years of experience delivering high-quality homes, Edenstone will first focus on finishing those nearest completion so customers can begin moving in as soon as possible.

The homes will have a variety of affordable tenures available

The new homes at Clehonger will be offered to people in the local community, with a variety of affordable tenures available.

They have stated that the homes will all achieve at least a ‘B’ Energy Performance Certificate rating, to help keep general running costs low and affordable.

The development will also benefit from a spacious public outdoor area, including an existing orchard which is being revived for everyone to enjoy. Further green space will be created in the form of an area for shrub planting, a wildflower meadow and a natural play area.

Stonewater’s Director of Development, Matthew Crucefix, is “delighted” to see the project get picked up again and to be working with Edenstone.

Matthew Crucefix, Director of Development (West & South West) at Stonewater, said:

I’m delighted to see work restart on 90 much-needed affordable homes in Clehonger. We look forward to welcoming customers into their new homes as soon as possible following what has been an unavoidable but unfortunate period of delay.
