Creating Smarter, Greener Connectivity
Housing Industry Leaders are pleased to announce a full day virtual event: Intelligent Mobility – Creating Smarter, Greener Connectivity
This one day event will deliver four one-hour long sessions exploring the latest innovations, including our drive to decarbonisation, connecting our communities and our post-covid recovery.
Session #1: The Green Bus Revolution 09.30 – 10.30
Speakers
Sunil Budhdeo – Transport Innovation Manager – Coventry City Council
Ali Bell – Head of External Relations – National Express
The use of green buses with public transport networks is not new, but what is new is the rush for zero net carbon reduction. This session will look at how our transport networks are embracing green technology such as electric fleets and hydrogen powered buses.
Session #2: Intelligent Transport Systems for Cleaner Air 11.00 – 12.00
Speakers
Carolyn Escreet – Clean Air Zone Operations Manager – Bradford City Council
Sally Jones, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, Bradford City Council
The continued development and implementation of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) is now accelerating for many Local Authorities due to ease of lockdown measures. In the first few weeks PM2.5 levels fell by 35% in London, and as we move back to pre-covid 19 life air quality is at top of the agenda. This session will explore hardware and digital solutions to tackle cleaner air in our communities.
Session #3: The Smart Passenger Experience 13.00 – 14.00
People are now back on the move. Hybrid ways of working are the new normal, which will ask questions of our passenger technology systems. With the government likely to relax rules on working from home in the coming months, the journey experience for customers will be key to ensuring a smooth transition back to the network. This session will highlight the latest innovations to create the new normal passenger journey.
Session #4: Moving On: Restarting Our Smart Mobility Journey – 14.30 – 15.30
Speakers
Chris Holmes – Programme Director – WM5G
Alina Schuprin – International Business Development Manager – ioki GmbH a DB Company
Smart mobility technologies have evolved at pace over the past few years, but real-world challenges can make implementation sometimes difficult.
