The £23m funding will enable Arbi to make “homes warmer”, more comfortable, and more affordable to heat, offering crucial support amid rising energy costs.

Arbi, one of the largest housing providers in the south of England, has secured over £23 million in funding from Wave 3 of the Warm Homes Fund to enhance the energy efficiency of 2,800 homes over the next three years.

Energy efficiency upgrades will include improved insulation, double glazing, solar panels, and cleaner heating systems. These measures will lower energy bills and contribute to the UK’s net-zero goals by reducing carbon emissions, claims Arbi.

The funding was awarded through the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero’s Strategic Partnership route, aimed at supporting large-scale retrofit projects led by experienced providers.

This route focuses on decarbonisation measures, expanding low-carbon heating, and preparing for future retrofit programs.

Forming part of the £1.29 billion allocated through Wave 3 of the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund, the investments are currently benefiting 144 projects across the UK.

Following previous funding from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF), Abri has now secured £35 million to upgrade 4,370 homes.

Arbi is also a founding member of the Greener Futures Partnership (GFP), a coalition of five housing associations working to improve the energy efficiency of social housing. The GFP has been awarded over £108.2 million in total from this latest funding wave.
