Andrew Eldred
Deputy Chief Executive Officer - ECA

Andrew Eldred is Deputy Chief Executive Officer of ECA – representing almost 3000 electrical contracting and associated businesses. His role at ECA includes leading on all aspects of association membership and skills strategy, including workforce skills policy, apprenticeships, Electrotechnical Training and Careers Alliances, and the ECA Growth Hub. In addition, Andrew is a trustee-director of the apprenticeship training charity JTL, ECA’s representative on the board of the Electrotechnical Skills Partnership (TESP), and deputy Chair of the Actuate UK (all engineering services) skills group.

Andrew and ECA member businesses in Wales are active supporters of skills development, with just over 600 electrical apprentice starts nationally last year (well above historic averages). ECA engages very closely with education and skills policy in Wales through positive interactions with Colegau Cymru, NTfW, Welsh Government and public agencies, including Medr, Qualifications Wales and Regional Skills Partnerships. ECA launched its Charter to Recharge Electrical Skills in Wales at the Senedd in November 2024.
